Annual parish Operating Statement for 2022

Dear Brothers and Sisters, Friends,

Attached is the Annual Parish Operating Statement for 2022 as a comparison to 2021. Below you may find an explanation of our financial statement.

I present to you our financial report for the past year of 2022. Due to all your combined efforts and generosity, we have a financial statement with a profit for 2022. A wonderful success!

This has been a year of many accomplishments. We sold our additional parking lot across Prince St. and paid our outstanding loan ($119,266), and Diocesan Assessment ($207,176). We are now debt free! The remaining funds ($440,653) were put on deposit with the Archdiocese.

Despite a slow recovery since the pandemic, our Parish finances are slowly improving. Thanks to your continued generosity, our offertory increased by approximately 13% over 2021 but is still down 17% from 2019.

Our Building Fund has declined by 20% from 2021 and decreased by 60% from 2019. This fund has immensely helped cover our loan payments, and also the maintenance of our existing aging buildings. As we go forward, this fund will help us meet the needs of renovating and upkeeping our Parish. Currently, we are repairing the south wall of the school building. The sum expense will be about $210,000 which will, unfortunately, cost more than our yearly lease income of school. Here I ask you for your generosity. At the request of several Parishioners, we are also planning to install air-conditioning and air filtration systems in the church so that we may have healthy and clean air.

I also wish to thank all of you who have signed up for the Pre-Authorized Giving program. The P.A.G. program helps the Parish to better budget for the future and helps keep our cash flow more consistent.

The extensive time and effort given by our hard-working volunteers in the past year have kept our maintenance expenses to a minimum. I thank you for your care of the ‘house and temple of the Lord.’

We have many challenges ahead of us here at St. Gregory’s, but with your continued support and our Building Fund and P.A.G. program in place, we are moving in the right direction.
